Recently, Nanning’s watermelons came into season again. As more and more watermelons appear on the market, there is a decrease of price compared to that of the previous period.
It is learned that Nanning’s watermelons have many varieties, such as Heimeiren, Tianwang, and Qilin. Every variety is relatively stable in the planting area and output, with an output of 1,500 to 2,500 kilograms per mu and an output value of 3,000 to 5,000 yuan per mu. The sweetness of these varieties of watermelons usually ranges from 11 percent to 12.5 percent, even up to 13 percent. In terms of purchase prices, it is 1.6 to 2 yuan per kilogram for Heimeiren and Tianwang, 2 to 3 yuan per kilogram for Qilin, Ganmei 4K, and Lvchang, and 3.6 to 5.6 yuan for Cuiling, Guiling and other mini size watermelons which are often used as gifts.
