It was recently announced that the 2024 National Dragon Boat Grand Event & 2024 Nanning Dragon Boat Open Race would take place in the waters near Changyou Pavilion by Yongjiang Bridge on June 10 for the Dragon Boat Festival.

The 2024 Nanning Dragon Boat Open Race will feature competitions in the Open Category (22-person dragon boats), Open Category (12-person dragon boats), and the newly-introduced Campus U18 Category (12-person dragon boats). The Campus U18 Category aims to encourage more teenagers to participate in the competitions and preserve dragon boat culture. Each year, many school dragon boat teams participate in Nanning’s dragon boat races, showcasing their impressive skills and winning numerous awards. The new Campus U18 Category will provide a platform for young participants to demonstrate their abilities, injecting new vitality into the traditional sport.
