On May 17, Guangxi's longest sea-crossing bridge under construction, the Longmen Bridge, has been fully connected, laying a solid foundation to achieve the goal of having it open traffic by the end of this year.

The bridge is 6,597 meters long. The main navigation bridge adopts a main span of 1,098 meters, based on a single-span steel box girder cable-stayed bridge format, meeting the navigation requirements of 20,000-metric-ton cruise ships.

Construction of the upper structure of the bridge has now entered the final stage, steadily advancing completion of the entire road surface structure, the installation of ancillary structures, and anti-corrosion coating works.

As a major infrastructure support project for the integrated development of Beihai, Qinzhou, and Fangchenggang in Guangxi, after the completion and opening of the Longmen Bridge, the driving time between Fangchenggang and Qinzhou Port will be reduced from 1.5 hours to about 25 minutes.

This will help promote the high-quality development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and support construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.
