From January to May 2024, the Qinzhou area of Beibu Gulf Port achieved a cargo throughput of 55.2 million metric tons, marking a 16.96 percent year-on-year increase. Among them, container throughput reached 2.71 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), up by 18.9 percent compared to the previous year.

The port's progress can be attributed to innovative initiatives such as integrating automated terminals with central station terminal operations and implementing intelligent intermodal transportation linking sea and rail. These measures have addressed bottlenecks like inefficiencies in non-mainline routes, limited direct ocean routes, and ineffective coordination of sea-land bidirectional logistics at Qinzhou Port.

These advancements have enhanced the driving force of Qinzhou Port's regional influence, facilitating its transformation into a gateway port and international hub along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Recently, the milestone was reached with the first trial shipment of approximately 18.5 tons of washed white duck feathers. This pilot initiative in import customs clearance reform, led by the General Administration of Customs of China, cleared customs in Guigang under joint supervision by Qinzhou and Guigang customs. This marks the commencement of the pilot project for import washed feathers and down customs clearance reform in Guangxi.
