In recent years, the sugar industry in Guangxi has shown a stable and improving trend with quality enhancements. In the crushing season of 2023 and 2024, the region's sugar production reached approximately 6.18 million tons, accounting for 60% of the national output for 20 consecutive seasons.

Reportedly, Guangxi has taken advantage of policies such as agricultural machinery purchase subsidies and subsidies for complete sets of equipment to guide scientific research resources in technological breakthroughs, continuously enhancing the mechanization of sugarcane production. So far, Guangxi has 3,077 sugarcane harvesters, with a comprehensive mechanization rate of 70.84% for sugarcane planting and harvesting. Moving forward, Guangxi will focus on improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency in sugarcane production, promoting technological innovation in the sugar industry, and upgrading and transforming of sugar enterprises. These efforts aim to accelerate the high-quality development of the sugar industry and continuously strengthen the resilience of the sector.
