A giant national flag was hoisted on Monday in Brunei to mark the start of the 78th birthday celebrations of Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin, the flag was hoisted at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex's open area. Brunei's Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin as the guest of honor officiated the handover of the giant national flag, and then the flag was hoisted by personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy.
Brunei is an oil-rich country located in the northern part of the Borneo island, with a population of 450,000 and a high level of social welfare.
