Recently, the troupe formation meeting for "Echoes", the first drama adaptation of a Mao Dun Literature Prize-winning work in Guangxi, was held in Nanning. The drama, produced by Guangxi Cultural Industry Group and Guangxi Performing Arts Co., Ltd., is based on the novel "Echoes" written by Dong Xi, the chairman of Federation of Literacy and Art Circles of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, who attended the meeting along with the creative team and representatives of the cast and crew.
It is reported that the drama "Echoes" will premiere in August at the Nanning Theatre. Plans are underway to invite a star-studded cast for subsequent performances and tours. Adapted from Dong Xi's novel, "Echoes" revolves around a criminal investigation case of a hired murder. It is part of the three-year planning support project for contemporary literary and artistic creation in Guangxi and marks an important attempt at market-oriented operations of local intellectual property. This project aims to further stimulate the creative vitality of Guangxi's theatre troupes and promote the prosperity and development of Guangxi's drama industry.
