Recently, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued "The Guangxi Implementation Plan for the 'Scenic Area Renewal' Project (2024-2026)" (hereinafter referred to as "The Implementation Plan").

It is reported that according to “The Implementation Plan”, Guangxi aims to upgrade its tourism products and supply mode through a new round of the "Scenic Area Renewal" project, supporting the construction of Guangxi as a world tourist destination. This includes promoting Guilin Lijiang River Scenic Area, Beihai Weizhou Island, and Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Tourist Area to become world-class tourist attractions. Additionally, it will foster new cultural tourism and health tourism sectors in locations like Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants in Nanning, expanding the health tourism market. “The Implementation Plan” also encourages the development of water-based cultural and sports tourism experience bases, such as Nanning Beautiful Yongjiang River and Yongzhou Ancient Charm Scenic Area, creating new spaces for water-based cultural and sports tourism consumption. Moreover, it supports historical and cultural blocks like San Jie Liang Xiang Historical and Cultural Block for Yongzhou Ancient City to develop immersive historical street experiences.
