At present, Nanning is actively engaged in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises as one of the first pilot cities selected for this initiative nationwide. With a focus on policy and funding support, the city aims to complete the digital transformation of over 100 pilot enterprises by the end of 2024.

It is reported that Nanning Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, as the leading department in this initiative, will tackle the issues of "unwillingness, fear, and inability to transform" faced by enterprises. This will be done by selecting a group of pilot industry benchmark enterprises for digital transformation to serve as examples and provide guidance, and by offering support in terms of funds, policies, and finance to assist small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, a resource pool comprising 37 service providers and an expert database of 16 industry experts will be established to offer specialized support for digital transformation endeavors. So far, approximately 100 pilot enterprises have completed the initial diagnostic phase and have been progressing towards the implementation stage of their digital transformation projects.
