Starting from August 1st, Guangxi will implement a policy of online settlement for the centralized procurement of drugs and medical consumables, aiming to ensure swift procurement and settlement to enhance patient access to medications.

It is reported that this policy is a collaborative effort by the Healthcare Security Bureau, Health Commission, Finance Department and Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. According to the policy, medical insurance agencies at various levels will advance a revolving fund to institutions within 30 days of the procurement cycle, equivalent to 40% of the total amount of the contract for drugs and consumables. The new policy also introduces the settlement process, with the funds of drugs settled within 30 days of receipt and the funds of consumables by the end of the following month after delivery and acceptance.
