Recently, the website of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region released "The Plan for Further Optimizing Payment Services and Enhancing Payment Convenience in Guangxi" (hereinafter referred to as "The Plan"), designating Nanning and five other regions as key areas to establish barrier-free payment service areas for foreigners coming to Guangxi.

According to “The Plan”, efforts will be made to enhance the cash usage environment and improve foreign currency exchange services. With the guidance of the government, banks and payment institutions in Guangxi will organize merchants to launch the payment function for overseas bank cards, making them more accessible in Guangxi. Furthermore, special needs of the elderly and foreigners in China will be fully taken into consideration, with appropriate services being arranged. Leveraging the geographical advantage of Guangxi as a gateway to ASEAN, innovation in foreign-oriented mobile payment products will be encouraged, promoting the use of more ASEAN countries' overseas e-wallets in Guangxi.
