Guangxi has recently launched an action plan for its high-quality development of the low-altitude economy (2024–2026), aiming to cultivate a robust industrial chain of more than 200 enterprises and exceed an industry scale of 50 billion yuan ($7.07 billion). By the end of 2026, Guangxi plans to establish itself as a hub for low-altitude service solutions and equipment manufacturing, serving ASEAN countries.
By 2024, the region is expected to initiate key technology research and pilot projects for low-altitude applications, advancing infrastructure and attracting cutting-edge manufacturing technology. In 2025, Guangxi plans to roll out demonstration projects in selected cities with optimal airspace and facilities. By 2026, Guangxi's low-altitude industry is expected to grow, with comprehensive infrastructure and scalable application scenarios in place.
The plan emphasizes industrial clusters and promotes unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturing in cities such as Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, and Beihai. Guangxi also plans to foster cross-industry collaboration, integrating low-altitude industries with tourism, logistics, and emergency response sectors. The region is set to develop low-altitude tourism test zones and explore new business models, such as urban air mobility.
Additionally, with specialized educational programs and international cooperation, talent development will be prioritized, particularly with ASEAN nations, to solidify Guangxi's leadership in the low-altitude economy.
