On October 15, the 2024 China-Laos Joint Fishery Law Enforcement and Fish Proliferation and Release Event was held in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The theme of this event was "Sharing One River, Protecting Our Mother River", during which a total of 770,000 fish fingerlings, including species such as Hemibagrus wyckioides, Barbodes daruphani, and Tor sinensis, were released. After the release, representatives from China and Laos embarked on a law enforcement patrol on law-enforcement vessels. The two countries have actively implemented the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism, and have carried out 16 joint fishery law enforcement and fish proliferation and release events for 10 consecutive years.
