Co-produced by Guangxi Radio and Television and Wuzhou Convergence Media Center, the documentary Ancient Tea Boat Waterway premiered on November 4 on Malaysia's All-Asian Satellite Television and Radio (Astro), Guangxi Satellite Television, and Wuzhou Radio and Television. It will be simultaneously promoted by over 20 new media outlets in countries such as China, Malaysia, and Thailand.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. As a project supported by the Guangxi Radio and Television Administration's China-ASEAN Co-Production Plan, the documentary consists of two episodes, The Long Ancient Waterway and Lingering Tea Aroma, each lasting 30 minutes. The creative team visited Malaysia's Ipoh, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Malacca and China's Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hong Kong, and Macao many times for interviews and filming. They explored the maritime trajectory of Chinese tea culture represented by Liubao tea, as well as the national sentiments and contemporary significance carried by the ancient tea boat waterway.
