From Nov 15 to 17, media representatives and influencers from 13 countries, including the UK, US, Colombia, and Pakistan, explored Laibin, Guangxi, uncovering its rich cultural and natural offerings.
In Jinxiu Yao autonomous county, participants celebrated the Panwang Festival, a 1,700-year-old tradition honoring Yao ancestry, and experienced UNESCO-listed practices such as the yellow mud drum dance. They joined locals in rice-pounding, drumming contests, and traditional dances, immersing themselves in Yao customs.
The group also explored Yao's medicinal heritage in Fengzhan village, learning about herbal remedies and wellness traditions involving over 1,000 medicinal plants. Unique rituals like fire-walking and marriage customs and authentic Yao cuisine offered a vivid cultural experience.
Alexander Lloyd from Colombia praised the Yao people's wellness practices, noting their use of herbal remedies to promote a balanced lifestyle. Khan Niaz Muhammad from Pakistan highlighted the unforgettable Yao dances, wedding ceremonies, and breathtaking sunrise over Dayao Mountain.
In Wuxuan county, visitors marveled at the Qixing Lake Sports Complex, a world-class rowing, kayaking, and dragon boating venue. They enjoyed water sports amidst stunning scenery and participated in sugarcane harvesting activities, gaining insights into Laibin's thriving agricultural sector.
Simon from the UK commended the complex for its professional facilities and stunning environment, calling the experience incredible.
