South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region held a ceremony in Guigang on April 26 to launch more than 10 new self-driving tour routes.
Linking together a number of cultural tourism sites in various cities in Guangxi, the Guangxi Culture and Tourism Bureau has created the tourist routes around such themes as health and leisure trips, ecological trips, homestay experience trips, island trips, and more. Their focus is on areas such as rural retreats, well-being trips, vacations and parent-child travel that are set to be popular with tourists after the epidemic, and to promote travel among local people in Guangxi.

The region has also issued preferential gift packages and other stimulus measures through Alipay, the mobile payment app of e-commerce powerhouse Alibaba, and plans to launch travel vouchers specifically for travel in early and mid-May.
The Guangxi Culture and Tourism Bureau will also cooperate with Sinopec Guangxi Branch to promote Guangxi cultural and tourism resources at gas stations and to distribute discount cards for tourists who participate in the self-driving tours, including multiple benefits such as refueling discounts at designated petrol stations and car wash service discounts.
More than 50 self-driving tour lovers from various cities in Guangxi gathered in Guigang for the ceremony and started a three-day and two-night self-driving tour along southeast Guangxi to experience the recommended tourist routes in advance and the charm of cultural tourism in the region.
Similar activities have been held simultaneously in Nanning, Chongzuo, Hechi, Liuzhou and other branch venues of Guangxi to jointly promote the recovery of Guangxi's cultural tourism market.
