More than 160 medical experts from over 10 countries including the United States, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Pakistan took part in the "Zhuang Medicine for Healthcare" online live stream to learn more about Chinese medicine.
The event was held by the Guangxi Science and Technology Department in Guangxi International Hospital of Zhuang Medicine. Pan Mingpu, who is part of the first batch of excellent clinical talents of Chinese (Zhuang) medicine in Guangxi with the main research direction of treating incurable diseases with Zhuang medicine, was the lecturer for the event.
Zhuang Medicine is a popular traditional medical technique of the Zhuang ethnic group in southeastern Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Through the simultaneous interpretation of translators, Pan demonstrated and introduced in detail the principles and effects of characteristic therapies of Zhuang medicine, such as Zhuang acupuncture therapy. Nurses of the hospital also led representatives of foreign experts in Guangxi on site to learn healthcare exercises based on theories of Zhuang medicine.
"The live stream will help foreign medical experts learn more about the culture of traditional Chinese medicine in the future, and promote Zhuang medicine to people all over the world," said Pan.
In order to accelerate the pace of international cooperation in Zhuang medicine, Guangxi issued the Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Inheritance and Development of Zhuang Medicine in May 2020, including incorporating Zhuang medicine into Belt and Road cooperation to encourage Zhuang medicine industry to go global.
