An organizational 'command center' has been officially created for both the 17th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS), indicating that the plans for the expo and the summit are fully in place and preparations have entered their final stages.
As of this year, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) has become China's largest trading partner. Bilateral trade and investment have grown against the trend, demonstrating the vitality of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
This year's CAEXPO and CABIS will respond to the COVID-19 pandemic: highlighting key tasks, bracing for epidemic prevention and control, and ensuring the pragmatic development of economic and trade cooperation. The event will be carried out using a combination of online and offline exhibitions.
The preparations for the 17th CAEXPO and CABIS are progressing smoothly. The events will continue to maintain high political and diplomatic standards and leaders of China and ASEAN countries will be invited to attend.
The opening ceremony, leaders' bilateral meetings, group photos and pavilion visits, as well as four celebration ceremonies of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Thailand relations, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Myanmar relations, and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Philippines relations, will all be held at the events.
Epidemic prevention and control, safety procedures, publicity and promotion, guest invitations and reception plans have all been steadily advancing, and domestic and foreign investment promotions have been accelerated. This year's event will strive to help the construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, revitalize the regional economy, and support Guangxi's opening up and development.
