Lu Xinshe, Party secretary of Guangxi and chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, conducted an on-site inspection of Nanning Education Park and Nanning's Wuming district on Aug 31.
The construction of Nanning Education Park started in 2015 and is due to be finished by 2023. Currently, new campuses of three universities, namely Guangxi Medical University (GXMU), Nanning Normal University, and Guangxi Vocational College of Safety Engineering, have been put into operation and the number of students in the park has reached nearly 15,000.
"Building Nanning Education Park is beneficial for Nanning's education and scientific research development, as well as a major step to boost Guangxi's educational development, especially in higher education," said Lu.

During his visit to the Wuming campus of GXMU, Lu noted that the university should grasp development opportunities to further improve its teaching and scientific research level, accelerate medical education modernization, as well as cultivate more medical talents for China.
The Guiyang-Nanning high-speed rail, one of the major transportation projects in Guangxi to ensure that every city has access to high-speed rail, is the first of its kind in Guangxi with a designated speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Lu urged that relevant departments should work in close collaboration and actively deal with problems during construction to ensure that the schedule, quality, and safety of the project are maintained.
Lu also visited the core industrial demonstration zone for Orah mandarins in Wuming district. "Wuming enjoys great advantages in developing modern distinctive agriculture. The initiative of the local people should be further mobilized to further promote Wuming's brand," added Lu.
