Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tsinghua Unigroup on Sept 4 to jointly promote the region's digital construction and boost the development of the local information industry.

Tsinghua Unigroup is a pioneer in the integrated circuit industry in China, with strong capabilities in terms of independent innovation.

Chen Wu, chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, met up with Zhao Weiguo, chairman of Tsinghua Unigroup, and witnessed the signing ceremony. Chen conveyed regards from Lu Xinshe, Party secretary of Guangxi and chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, during the meeting.

Chen said that Guangxi has gained great momentum in developing its big data industry, and the region has seen rapid growth in the operating income of software businesses in the first half of 2020.

Chen expressed his hope that both sides can strengthen cooperation to accelerate the implementation of projects in Guangxi, while Tsinghua Unigroup can take an active part in Guangxi's development in areas spanning new infrastructure, information networks and smart cities to contribute to the high-quality growth of Guangxi's economy. 

Zhao outlined the state of the group's current cooperation projects in Guangxi and noted that he has strong confidence in the region's development.

Zhao added that the company will give full play to its advantages to carry out deep cooperation with Guangxi in areas such as integrated circuits, information technology innovation and talent cultivation.
