The 11th Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum and the 2020 Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port Cooperation Summit will be held on Oct 15 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Considering the current COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, this year's forum will be held both online and offline.

Sub-venues for video conferences will be set up in six cities, namely Nanning, Beihai, Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, Yulin, and Chongzuo while live streaming of the forum in both Chinese and English will be available on mainstream media platforms at home and abroad.

The forum will carry out in-depth discussions and research on pressing issues like the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in Western China, the development of the digital economy and marine economy, the construction of the international gateway port, as well as the new opportunities brought to Pan-Beibu Gulf cooperation by the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

Guangxi has organized the forum 10 times since 2006 with relevant national departments, nearby provinces and cities, as well as ASEAN countries, achieving remarkable outcomes. The Pan-Beibu Gulf cooperation has become one of the major international communication platforms under the cooperation framework of China and ASEAN in pushing forward the construction of the Belt and Road.
