An online symposium attracting journalists of more than 10 mainstream media outlets from countries including Indonesia, Brunei, Nepal, and Sri Lanka was held on Sept 18 to showcase the latest achievements in Guangxi's construction for the open financial gateway for ASEAN.
The symposium was jointly hosted by parties like China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) and the Local Financial Supervision Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The people in charge of relevant departments, including the Local Financial Supervision Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Nanning Central Sub-branch of the People's Bank of China, and the Nanning government, talked with the participating journalists about the innovative measures and major breakthroughs in the construction of the open financial gateway for ASEAN, aiming to promote the openness and cooperation in finance with ASEAN countries.
The balance of domestic and foreign currency loans in Guangxi amounted to 3.38 trillion yuan ($498.12 billion) by the end of July, with a year-on-year increase of 16.01 percent, ranking first in Western China and seventh in China.
