With the launch of the Beidou Smart Integrated Position Service Platform for multilingual application scenarios in ASEAN countries, as well as the completion of the China-ASEAN Beidou/GNSS Center, Guangxi has further promoted exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries.

The Guangxi Beidou Application Demonstration Project, which is one of the special demonstration projects of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System (BDS), has passed the acceptance review of the China Satellite Navigation Office and the Guangxi Industry and Information Technology Department.

In addition to the Guangxi Beidou integrated location service platform, the demonstration project also provides the BDS-based services for China-ASEAN vehicle and vessel cross-border supervision, the smart sugar industry, the smart navigation management of ships on the Xijiang River, as well as refined urban management.

Since the implementation of the projects in 2017, more than 160,000 Beidou terminals/sets have been promoted, while nine standard specifications have been formulated.

Guangxi has carried out exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries in the field of satellite navigation by holding professional forums, forming industrial alliances, as well as organizing enterprises to carry out field visits to expand the influence, strength, and recognition of BDS.

At present, Guilin University of Electronic Technology has taken the lead in establishing the China-ASEAN Satellite Navigation International Cooperation Alliance to carry out academic exchanges and co-construction of laboratories for ASEAN. Three Beidou laboratory innovation platforms and one ionosphere observation station have been built with universities in Malaysia, Cambodia, and other countries. In addition, the China-ASEAN cross-border geological disaster monitoring system has been constructed, while a domestic and foreign integrated geological monitoring location service demonstration system has been deployed.

Moreover, Guangxi enterprises have actively established cooperative relationships with ASEAN countries to expand the ASEAN market.
