Enterprises from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has actively introduced and explored its investment and procurement opportunities at the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is being held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, achieving fruitful results.

Lin Hongyu, chairman of Guangxi Fengrun Supply Chain Management Co Ltd, has brought his team to the CIIE for the third time. The company's purchases this year will exceed 50 million yuan ($7.55 million) due to the rapid development of e-commerce sales.

"We hope to find more high-quality imported food and daily necessities this year," said Lin. "We expect to increase the company's core competitiveness by increasing international exchanges and cooperation."

Nanning Department Store Co is taking part in the CIIE for the first time and is also focusing on the high-quality goods in the food exhibition area and daily necessities exhibition area. It has reached preliminary cooperation intentions with related companies.

Tesla is displaying three models in the automobile exhibition area. Tesla set up a display and experience area in Nanning this year and received unexpected market response. In January 2021, the first Tesla Center in Guangxi will open and officially provide consumers with a full range of integrated services.

Tao Lin, vice president of Tesla, said that the company has laid out the overcharge network and the charging network in important cities like Nanning, Liuzhou, and Wuzhou, adding that the company plans to increase its investment in Guangxi starting from next year.

According to preliminary statistics, the Guangxi trading delegation has reached purchase intention agreements for about 40 projects at this year's CIIE, as well as that more than 100 Guangxi enterprises have signed contracts both online and offline.

A person in charge of the Guangxi Commerce Department noted that Guangxi has focused on connecting with exhibitors like Tesla, Linde Group, Fosun Pharma, and Danaher Corporation to accelerate the progress of those enterprises' investment, as well as the establishment of their plants in the region.
