Guangxi will accelerate its construction of a new generation of information technology innovation and application demonstration hub for ASEAN countries, announced Qian Xueming, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's Guangxi Committee, on Nov 13.
Qian said that high-tech companies from ASEAN countries are welcomes to seek mutual development in China through the "Nanning channel."
Liao Wenjun, deputy director of the Guangxi Science and Technology Department, noted that Guangxi will push forward its working mechanism for bilateral technology transfer centers with nine ASEAN countries respectively, while forming a joint working group.
Guangxi will further expand its "circle of friends" for China-ASEAN innovation and cooperation. Currently, the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center has more than 2,400 members, of which one third of them are from ASEAN countries.
Liao added that Guangxi has teamed with scientific research institutes to establish 20 joint laboratories or innovation centers in nine ASEAN countries.
