The first phase of the Guangxi (China-ASEAN) grain logistics park in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has completed construction of its main structure, in the run-up to the 17th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).

Officials said the construction of the entire facility is scheduled to finish by May 2021, when it is expected to lay solid foundations for modern grain logistics and trade between China and ASEAN countries.

The park has been designed to be a large-scale regional and international grain logistics center for China and ASEAN, as well as a hub for ASEAN grains to enter the Chinese market.

The park will be divided into three functions: warehousing, logistics and processing. It will establish facilities including standard grain warehouses, low temperature warehouses for refined grain products, reserve oil tanks and food processing plants.

Officials said it is expected that more companies managing grain processing and operations from both inside and outside Guangxi will settle down in the park after construction is completed, to make contributions to the establishment of a modern grain industry system in Guangxi.
