The 2020 China (Guangxi) – Indonesia Online Fair opened on Nov 23. This is the fourth online trade fair hosted by the Commerce Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region after three previous online trade fairs with Vietnam and Japan.
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Guangxi has actively set up online trade platforms to promote exchanges and cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN countries, so as to advance the establishment of a new channel for bilateral trade online," said Diao Weihong, deputy director of the Commerce Department of Guangxi.
This online trade fair will last for three days. Guangxi has 55 enterprises attending the fair, spanning the fields of food, agricultural products, household supplies, building materials, hardware, health care, and instruments, while 93 Indonesian purchasers have been organized to participate in the fair.

Guangxi attaches great importance to economic cooperation with Indonesia. In 2019, the total import and export volume between Guangxi and Indonesia reached 7.59 billion yuan ($1.15 billion), a year-on-year increase of 12.9 percent, said Diao.
He also expressed his hopes that Guangxi exhibitors participating in the online trade fair will promote their high-quality products abroad through promotional activities and live streaming, further deepening the economic cooperation between Guangxi and Indonesia, as well as advancing the steady development of bilateral relations between the two sides.
According to Pei Jianhua, first secretary of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, China's direct investment in Indonesia saw a year-on-year increase of 6 percent to $3.5 billion, maintaining it as the second largest source of foreign investment in Indonesia.
This fully demonstrates the broad prospects of bilateral economic and trade relations between the two sides, and we hope that enterprises of Guangxi and Indonesia will seize the opportunity of this online trade fair to further deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation, added Pei.
"We welcome famous products from Guangxi to enter the Indonesian market through the online trade fair," said Lin Wenguang, chairman of the Indonesia China Business Council.
"The Indonesian market has great potential for development, and we are willing to promote trade and cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese businesses in various fields," added Lin.
