The second Guangxi-Taiwan ethnic cultural design and art education activity commenced in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Dec 1, promoting exchanges and communications in areas spanning ethnic culture, art design, and education.

The activity was jointly held by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Guangxi Arts University (GXAU).

Zheng Junli, president of GXAU, said that universities have been playing an important role in deepening cultural exchanges and communication between Guangxi and Taiwan as economic and trade cooperation between the two areas are getting closer.

He Qingxin, head of the school of film and media of GXAU, noted that the event not only showcases the charm of ethnic culture, but also injects new vitality into promoting Chinese culture on the global stage.

A total of more than 80 pieces of design works by students from GXAU and Shih Chien University in Taiwan have been on display, covering areas including costume design, make-up modeling, new media art, and installation art.
