The first China-ASEAN (Nanning) Drama Week is set to take place in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Dec 7 to 14, gathering troupes from China and eight ASEAN countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia in online and offline venues.

Jointly held by the Nanning municipal people's government and the Guangxi Culture and Tourism Department, the event has now been listed as one of the six major activities of the first China-ASEAN Culture and Arts Week co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The event will be divided into five sections, including art exhibitions, Cantonese opera competitions, and opera performances. People will be able to enjoy the opera performances at places like Nanning People's Grand Hall, Yongzhou Theater, Nanning Museum, and Fantawild Asian Legend.

An online platform for artists and inheritors of intangible cultural heritages to conduct exchanges and learn from each other will be set up during the event. Viewers from both China and ASEAN countries can participate in the discussions on the platform to get a closer look at the beauty of intangible cultural heritages from China and ASEAN countries.
