The fourth session of the 12th Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) is set to be held in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi, from Jan 20 to 24.

This year's session will be shortened and a new pandemic prevention and control working group will be set up. 

A press conference was held on Jan 19, noting that this year's event will apply a closed cycle of management due to the current COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control situation. 

The meeting's attendees are not allowed to leave the area where they live apart from to attend the meeting, and they are also not allowed to contact people outside the closed cycle of management. They will have to sign health commitments and go through nucleic acid testing at least twice.

Regular disinfection will be enforced at major areas such as the meeting site and in vehicles.

Members of CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee from Hong Kong and Macao will not participate in the meeting in Nanning. They can fulfill their duties instead through online videos or other means such as reading meeting materials and submitting written statements and proposals.

Representatives of personages without party affiliation will speak at the meeting for the first time and their proposals will be submitted mainly online.
