The joint agreement between China and Serbia on mutual recognition and replacement of driving licenses signed last May officially took effect on March 13, 2022, according to an official statement of the Traffic Management Bureau, China's Ministry of Public Security.

According to the agreement, both countries should recognize the valid driving licenses approved by the other. Anyone can temporarily drive sedans or motorcycles with a driver's license approved by one's home country, accompanied by a translated version.

For those who stay in the other country more than one year, a driver's license can be replaced by a local version without examination.

The agreement can benefit both Chinese and Serbian people who study, work, or live in the other country. In addition, economic cooperation, cultural communication, and personnel exchange between the two countries could be further facilitated.

China has already realized the mutual recognition and replacement of driving licenses with Belgium, UAE, and France. The Ministry of Public Security will continue to improve the recognition of China's driving licenses with other countries.
