The launch ceremony of the 2022 Guilin Lijiang Shopping Festival was held both online and on-site at Guilin Xiangshan Scenic Area on July 19.

Wang Xin, head of the Guilin bureau of commerce, said that the shopping festival has been held for years and has been well-received by residents and tourists, becoming a new city calling card for Guilin.

This year's event will last from July to December, covering several holidays like the Qixi Festival, or the Chinese Valentine's Day, the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and the National Day holiday.

A total of 8 million yuan ($1 million) in coupons will be released, covering the automobile, dining, and shopping sectors, while more than 300 promotional activities will be held by nearly 50 major commercial complexes and supermarkets in Guilin from July to December.

A riverside fair featuring 20 kinds of distinctive intangible cultural heritage items and cultural creative products of Guilin at Guilin Xiangshan Scenic Area also opened that day and will last until July 23.
