On July 20, Hechi held the first Zhuang and Yao medicated diet competition. Thirty teams from Hechi's 11 counties and districts gathered at Hechi Technical School to exchange research results on medicated meals, showcase cooking skills, as well as to promote traditional Chinese medicine health care methods.

In recent years, Hechi has attached great importance to the high-quality development of the Chinese medicine industry. It has built a characteristic brand of traditional Chinese medicine and achieved good results in promoting the integrated development of traditional Chinese medicine with planting, tourism, health care, as well as senior care.
In this competition, a nursing home named Dahua Minsheng Xinfu Jiayuan, Hechi Technical School, and Yizhou District Vocational Education Center (Team 1) won the first prize award in the competition group. Eighteen people including Cai Yufang won the outstanding individual award in the medicinal diet theory exam, and 18 people won the outstanding individual award for medicinal diet practice operation including Li Huatuan.
Ou Naijian, deputy director of the Hechi municipal health commission and director of the Hechi bureau of traditional Chinese medicine, said that the event will strengthen the study, promotion, and application of the Zhuang and Yao medicated diet culture in the city, as well as improve the service ability of medicated diet therapy talents.
