Workers are toiling tirelessly to speed up construction of the China ASEAN (Bama) big data cloud computing base project, located in the core area of the digital health town in Bama Yao autonomous county. The project is expected to be completed and put into production early next year.
Si Yongheng, director of the engineering department at the China ASEAN (Bama) big data cloud computing base, recently issued an update on how much of the work has been completed, notably the main structures, facades, simple indoor decorations, outdoor pipe-network roads, and the landscaping around each building. Meanwhile, seedlings are being planted outdoors while projects supporting the indoor electromechanical operations of the data room are underway. Overall, the construction work is progressing smoothly and on schedule, he said.
The China ASEAN (Bama) big data cloud computing base project marks another major milestone for the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. It is planned to cover 180 mu (12 hectares), with a total building area of 174,000 square meters. All of the machine rooms have been designed and are bring built according to the national class-A standard.
The project aims to build the first big data supercomputing platform on the public cloud in Guangxi and help the province go digital by integrating the digital industry chain, upgrading the traditional data center, and providing all-round digital infrastructure services from network-resource leasing and cloud storage to cloud computing to supercomputing, .
After the project is put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 970 million yuan ($134 million), contribute 50 million yuan in tax revenue to the local government each year, and provide 130 jobs, giving the region a major economic boost.
