Twenty teams competing in the team and enterprise categories of the 2022 China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition showcased the characteristics and advantages of their projects on Jan 9 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The competition was jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat.
The competition attracted 71 teams from China and ASEAN countries to participate in the quarter-finals, which was held in three sub-venues in Singapore, Bangkok, and Nanning.
These teams, mainly from universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and social groups in China and ASEAN countries, brought projects focusing on modern agriculture, digital economy, biomedicine and health, as well as energy conservation and environmental protection.
Zhang Guangjun, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the competition has provided professional entrepreneurship tutors to counsel and train these teams, effectively increasing the quality and overall capacity of the final projects.
Zhang expressed the hope that China and ASEAN countries will continue to focus on and support the talents who stood out in the competition, so that they in turn can help to develop China-ASEAN cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Hou Yanqi, the Chinese ambassador to the ASEAN, said that the competition should promote sci-tech innovation sharing between China and ASEAN countries, serve the economic revival and sustainable development in the post-pandemic era, and boost the industrialization of innovation and entrepreneurship outcomes.
