Recently, snapdragons, also known as goldfish grass, in Nanning People"s Park are in full bloom. A stretch of multi-colored flowers looks like a beautiful oil painting, attracting many residents to appreciate and take photos. The flower field is located near the east gate of the park and is planted with about 70,000 potted snapdragons that extend an area of 3,000 square meters and are expected to bloom for a month.
The plant is named for its resemblance to the head and mouth of a goldfish. The florescence will last from November to May of the following year.
This plant is considered auspicious, generally implying vigorousness and prosperity. The meaning of flowers with different colors varies. For example, pink means sweet love, red means good luck, yellow means flourishment, purple means propitious omen, and a mixture of colors means great benefits.
