Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Liuzhou, Guangxi Province is synonymous with various festivals.

On February 2, the Bainiaoyi Festival was held in Gandong Township in the county. A crowd of Miao, Yao, Zhuang, and other ethnic groups celebrated by joining the traditional local social party called "Datongnian", playing the lusheng, a reed-pipe wind instrument, and doing Miao dance, presenting a boisterous scene.

Bainiaoyi, or “hundred-bird dress”, is the most gorgeous costume of the Miao ethnic group in Rongshui. It is exquisitely made in multiple colors and is decorated with eye-catching pompons made of white feathers. People wear a Bainiaoyi to join the festival, dance to the lusheng, and do Caitang dance.

With a history of more than 300 years, the festival is a folk cultural activity for people to celebrate and pray for happiness.
