The Chinese government has activated its emergency humanitarian assistance mechanism to provide immediate aid to earthquake-hit Türkiye and Syria, according to Deng Boqing, deputy head of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, on Tuesday.
China will provide Türkiye with RMB 40 million(about $5.9 million) in the first batch of emergency assistance, dispatch heavy urban rescue teams and medical teams, and send relief materials that are urgently needed.
China will also provide disaster relief supplies to Syria, and speed up the ongoing food assistance projects.
Meanwhile, all sectors of Chinese society have reached a helping hand to Turkey and Syria.
The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) has provided the Turkish Red Crescent and the Syrian Red Crescent with 200,000 U.S. dollars cash respectively as emergency humanitarian assistance.
