The launch of the "Invest in China Year" (Embracing ASEAN) activities and the 10th anniversary celebration for the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, part of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative, were held on April 7 in Kuantan, Malaysia.
The "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative is part of a major intergovernmental cooperation project directly initiated and promoted by the leaders of China and Malaysia, and has become a model for China-ASEAN cooperation.
Guangxi is the frontline and window of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries.
The region is willing to take this celebration as an opportunity to participate in exchanges with people from all walks of life in Malaysia. The aim is to carry out in-depth cooperation in connectivity, economic and trade investment, industrial cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
On the same day, the guests witnessed the opening of the Kuantan Port-Beibu Gulf Port-Sichuan-Chongqing intermodal transport route, and the opening of the Kuantan distribution center for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. This was also the collective launching of three new projects in the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park.
The event contributed to the signing of 17 cooperation projects with a total amount of 39.23 billion yuan ($5.71 billion). These projects cover non-ferrous and recycled metal trade and production, cross-border logistics operation and cold chain cooperation, clean energy and new energy development, new materials for environmental protection, and other fields.
