In the first quarter of this year, the foreign trade volume of Guangxi increased by 65.4 percent year-on-year to 167.75 billion yuan ($24.31 billion), 18.9 percentage points higher than that of the previous two months, ranking second in China in terms of growth rate.
Of this total, its exports reached 84.45 billion yuan, up 75.1 percent, and its imports reached 83.3 billion yuan, up 56.6 percent. In March, the import and export volume of Guangxi reached 65.71 billion yuan, a 106.9 percent increase, ranking first in China in terms of growth rate.
In the first quarter, the import and export of general trade in Guangxi reached 70.31 billion yuan, up 61.3 percent, while its imports and exports of bonded logistics reached 44.67 billion yuan, up 129 percent. Its imports and exports of processing trade reached 24.76 billion yuan, up 0.2 percent, while its imports and exports of border trade reached 26.45 billion yuan, up 104.1 percent.
Imports and exports of private enterprises in Guangxi reached 99.59 billion yuan, up 81.4 percent and accounting for 59.4 percent of the region's total. Imports and exports of State-owned enterprises reached 32.97 billion yuan, up 66.6 percent. Imports and exports of foreign-invested enterprises reached 25.59 billion yuan, up 5.2 percent.
Guangxi's imports and exports to other RCEP member states reached 85.55 billion yuan, up 94.2 percent, of which its imports and exports to ASEAN increased by 102.1 percent. Its imports and exports to Middle East countries reached 13.58 billion yuan, up 124 percent, while its imports and exports to the United States reached 10.2 billion yuan, up 25.3 percent.
Guangxi's imports and exports to Hong Kong, Africa, and Australia reached 9.92 billion yuan, 9.41 billion yuan, and 6.17 billion yuan respectively, up 29.3 percent, 70.7 percent, and 96.8 percent, respectively.
In the first quarter, the imports and exports of Chongzuo, Qinzhou and Hezhou respectively reached 53.27 billion yuan, 21.47 billion yuan, and 560 million yuan, up 170.9 percent, 103 percent, and 118.9 percent respectively. The imports and exports of Nanning and Fangchenggang totaled 35.08 billion yuan and 21.83 billion yuan respectively, up 33.3 percent and 24.1 percent.
