CRRC Tangshan Co., Ltd., a major Chinese high-speed train manufacturer, unveiled the first new energy light rail trains exported to Argentina on Tuesday morning. This project marks China"s first export of new energy light rail vehicles, and the train will be serving at Jujuy Province of Argentina.
The train is green, intelligent, and user-friendly. It can be widely used in various fields such as urban rail transit, as well as become tourist trains, according to Luo Chao, a technical manager at CRRC Tangshan branch.
Luo stated that the train has a maximum operating speed of 60 kilometers per hour. It is equipped with driver's cabs at both ends, allowing for bidirectional operation. The train can be flexibly configured either by combining multiple units or by running multiple trains in a coupled formation. The passenger capacity can be adjusted flexibly, ranging from 72 to 388.
"The train is equipped with intelligent human-sensing systems such as facial recognition unlocking, remote temperature control for air conditioning, and smart human-machine interaction terminals," said Luo.
He further explained that passengers can use the smart human-machine interaction terminals and dynamic maps to access information such as route details, timetables, stations, and compartment layout at any time.
By harnessing the abundant local solar energy through photovoltaic power generation, the train has adopted lithium iron phosphate batteries for the first time as the power source for its propulsion system.
CRRC Tangshan announced the signing of a new-energy light rail train project with authorities of Jujuy Province of Argentina in May, 2022 and the construction began in October of the same year.
