The total volume of lychees departing from Nanning Wuxu International Airport in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has exceeded 1,000 metric tons as of June 20.
Lychees are reputed as one of the "four best fruits of the Lingnan area" due to their sweet taste. Additionally, Guangxi is one of the main lychee producing areas in China. Transporting lychees is extremely demanding and require high efficiency, so air transportation is commonly used to maximize the freshness of the lychees as they hit the market.
Guangxi Civil Aviation Industry Development has released a dedicated transport plan with the support of the Nanning airport to secure a three-month lychee transportation air route that began in May.
Special personnel have been arranged in advance to strengthen booking management, and makes timely adjustments according to the quantity of goods.
Guangxi Civil Aviation Industry Development has worked with relevant departments of the Nanning airport to arrange unloading platforms in advance to ensure that the lychees are promptly unloaded upon arrival. Green security check channels will be prepared to ensure fast lychee inspections.
The company has also jointly opened special Nanning-Nanjing and Nanning-Beijing lychee air routes with China Post Airlines and SF Airlines, respectively. This will increase the lychee transportation capacity, as the Nanning-Nanjing route will operate seven flights per week.
Since a large number of lychees came onto the market at the end of May, the highest daily volume of lychees departing from the Nanning airport reached 170 tons. In late June, lychee transportation is expected to reach a small peak.
