The Fuxing bullet train is expected to run on the Xining-Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway starting from July 1, said China Railway.
The Xining-Golmud section will accommodate speeds of 160 kilometers per hour and travel time within 6 hours after the Fuxing bullet train is put into operation, according to China Railway.
The CR200J Fuxing bullet train, which is to run on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, has six carriages and can accommodate over 600 passengers.
The parking brake function have been added to the bullet train to better navigate the mountainous and high-altitude area with a lot of slopes and tunnels, said China Railway.
In addition, in order to adapt to the special operating conditions of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the train has improved its sealing performance and utilized pressure wave devices to make plateau trips more comfortable.
