With the popularity of luosifen, or river snail rice noodles in Liuzhou, Luocheng makes use of its geographical advantages close to Liuzhou to promote the development of luosifen raw materials industry.

The Guangxi Luocheng Laoniangcai Food in Long'an town, Luocheng Mulam autonomous county, has forged ahead by adopting an operations mode that involves "company+cooperatives+farmers".

It cooperates with local cooperatives and surrounding farmers to purchase luosifen raw materials such as bamboo shoots and beans. It tackles the marketing of luosifen raw materials sourcing and planting for the locals.

To date, Long'an folks have opened more than 2,300 luosifen restaurants throughout the country and each restaurant purchases raw materials, with an average annual purchase value of more than 50,000 yuan ($6,900).

“Since working at Guangxi Luocheng Laoniangcai Food, I have been able to earn around 3,000 yuan a month and working in my hometown makes it convenient for me to take care of the children and the elderly, "said Ou Yuju, a female worker there, who returned to her hometown to be with her husband a few years ago.

In 2022, Luocheng planted 10,000 mu (667 hectares) of bamboos nearly 5,000 mu of beans, 1,058 mu of snails and 1.67 million rods of agaric. The luosifen raw material industry has now expanded to 11 towns and villages in the county, generating annual output value of 185 million yuan.

What's more, the county has also deployed Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation funds to build the luosifen industrial park, to promote the extension of the agricultural product industry supply chain and has recruited young migrant workers to return to their hometown for entrepreneurship.

The luosifen raw materials industry has become a major industry that has acted to increase the incomes of farmers and promoted rural vitalization in Luocheng.
