On July 1, the Brunei government orchestrated a ceremony at Brunei International Airport to mark the resumption of direct flights to Beijing, China since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brunei tourism department organized captivating local music performances to extend a heartfelt welcome to the first group of 110 Chinese tourists.
Captain Sabirin Hj Abd Hamid, CEO of Royal Brunei Airlines, announced the plan for the prompt resumption of direct flights to Shanghai and Nanning. They will also actively explore the possibility of opening new direct routes to other cities in China to attract more Chinese tourists to Brunei.
