The 2023 Guilin Art Festival will take place from Oct 27 to Nov 5 and nearly half of the activities will be staged outdoors.

This year's event will set up sessions such as the international and domestic drama invitation, an urban art exhibition, an HD drama film screening and academic forums.

The festival will make full use of Guilin's superb landscape, creating special performance spaces such as a mountain theater, water theater, cave theater, stone theater and a lawn theater.

The Global Chinese Young Drama Directors Talent Program will be launched, to select and cultivate a group of outstanding young drama talent while expanding the scope of art exchanges and cooperation.

Being the only arts festival jointly sponsored by local governments and universities in China, the Guilin Art Festival creates a strong vibe for people to enjoy the festive atmosphere and promote the integrated development of cultural tourism.

Since the launch of the 2023 Global Chinese Young Drama Director Talent Program, more than 300 creators and more than 350 works have participated, with 14 percent being overseas applicants.

This is regarded as one of the programs with the highest profile, the widest media and public coverage and the largest number of works collected from drama directors in recent years.
