Chinese medical teams specializing in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) carried out free clinical activities in the ONE PARK community of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, on Wednesday.
Ten TCM experts were present to offer professional consultation and diagnoses. These experts are specialized in various fields, including respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, general medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, orthopedics, acupuncture, preventive healthcare, and nursing.
More than a hundred people from Cambodia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Myanmar, and Malaysia, experienced TCM treatment on site.
The medical team prepared various Chinese herbal medicines and medical equipment to offer comprehensive TCM diagnosis and treatment services to patients. Chinese doctors attentively listened to each patient's symptoms and concerns, conducted thorough examinations and determined appropriate treatment.
Tan Vann, a 70-year-old resident in the community, decided to experience TCM therapy after he heard there was a free clinic in his community. Due to years of physical labor, Tan Vann had been suffering from persistent back pain. He had tried various treatments such as traditional massage and medication, but with little improvement.
After a comprehensive examination, Dr. Yuan Geng, the team leader, diagnosed Tan Vann with lumbar disc herniation and immediately performed acupuncture treatment. As the slender silver needles were inserted into the acupuncture points, Tan Vann initially felt a bit nervous, but soon grew visibly relaxed. The Cambodian elderly was amazed to discover the miraculous effects of these small silver needles.
The Chinese medical team arrived in Phnom Penhon Tuesday evening. It will not only perform routine medical treatments but also promote the construction of the national-level China-Cambodia Traditional Chinese Medicine Center.
