The 11th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative - hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region - opened in Nanning city on July 13.
Guangxi officials announced that the region was ready to work with all parties to deepen joint research in various fields.
They will focus in particular on technological cooperation in specialized agriculture, energy conservation, environmental protection, biomedicines, marine and public health.
Guangxi will deepen the joint construction of science and innovation platforms and jointly establish overseas and offshore innovation centers, incubators, technology demonstration bases.
It will aim to deepen cooperation in technology transfers, jointly build a China-ASEAN online technology trading platform, create a China-ASEAN expert database and a database of achievements - and facilitate more project cooperation and the implementation of technological achievements.
Wang Zhigang, head of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that China and ASEAN were good neighbors, friends and partners.
The Ministry of Science and Technology was, he said, willing to work with ASEAN countries to further deepen regional cooperation in science and technology innovation, jointly improve their multi-level cooperation mechanism, continue to expand all-round cooperation areas, accelerate the construction of high-level cooperation platforms and jointly create a collaborative interaction model of industry, university and research.
This would achieve more inclusive, more sustainable and higher-quality development through sci-tech innovation, Wang added.
ASEAN officials said that China was an excellent cooperation partner for ASEAN member countries.
They looked forward to ASEAN and China continuing to work together to deepen regional cooperation in science, technology and innovation, as well as to jointly promote and implement scientific and technological innovation measures - so that more scientific and technological development and cooperation would benefit the people of ASEAN countries.
