More than 1,000 entrepreneurs from home and abroad gathered in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on July 18 to exchange ideas and explore cooperation opportunities.
Major projects with a total contract amount of over 30 billion yuan ($4 billion) were signed by 20 outstanding private enterprises. These projects will contribute to the development of key industrial chains in Guangxi.
Guangxi officials expressed that businessmen in Guangxi are valuable resources for the region's high-quality development. These businessmen and several major chambers of commerce are expected to fully leverage their advantages in broad vision, extensive connections, and multiple platforms to help Guangxi attract more high-end talents and industries.
Fang Guanghua, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, expressed the hope that businessmen in Guangxi will seize development opportunities in Guangxi, strengthen their industrial competitiveness, and actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road.
Fang also encouraged all parties involved to promote economic and trade exchanges with ASEAN countries, become a driving force in building a modern economic system, and continue promoting high-quality development in the new era.
"At present, construction of the Pinglu Canal is in full swing. After completion, large-scale machinery and other materials can be transported from Nanning to the Beibu Gulf Port, where they can reach various international markets via convenient and affordable water transportation," said Chen Zhilie, president of the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce and chairman of Evoc Intelligent Technology.
Chen noted that Guangxi is at the front line of China's opening up efforts and cooperation with ASEAN member countries. At the event, Chen announced that Evoc will invest 5 billion yuan to build a large-scale consumer goods production base in Nanning, and that it will continue to explore the ASEAN market.
