Dongxing Port is the only national Class I port in China that is adjacent to ASEAN countries, and one of the most convenient passages from China to Vietnam and Southeast Asia. As port trade continues to heat up, Dongxing City has kept strengthening the cultivation of new forms of e-commerce, so as to help the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and broaden product sales channels.

According to official statistics, there are now 2,683 e-commerce businesses (including self-employed households and micro-sized e-commerce merchants) in Dongxing City, including about 500 e-commerce livestreaming ones and 45 in incubation. The industry has created more than 10,000 jobs. The commodities for sale feature Vietnam"s specialty food, mahogany handicrafts, nuts and rattan-weaved products. From January to June this year, the e-commerce transaction volume of Dongxing City reached about RMB 870 million. (Bo)
